History
North Harbour Rotary was chartered or officially came into being on July 3 1989 with 36 members. The Club achieved notoriety or fame as the first Rotary club in the world to receive their charter with women members.
North Harbour Rotary is a friendly and active club with a positive love of life and a strong community spirit. We’re a lively and fun-loving bunch of men and women whose focus is on fellowship and service - making a difference by supporting people and initiatives in our community – and beyond.
We’re a ‘sunrise’ group – so meet at 7am (glorious sunrises over Lake Pupuke) and make a point of finishing our meetings at 8.30. As well as a good breakfast we enjoy new knowledge, new perspectives and generally broadening our horizons through a wide range of speakers and subjects.
We meet on Friday mornings at Lakeside, the café/meeting room that is part of the North Shore Squash Club in Shea Tce, Takapuna (beside North Shore Hospital).

Our maxim reminds every Rotary North Harbour members that our individual efforts, when combined with the efforts of our full membership, enables significant benefit to our community, our club, our Oceania district and beyond.
And we have a lot of fun doing it!
THE FOUR-WAY TEST
Of the things we think, say or do
Of the things we think, say or do
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
